Good morning all. It started out as a weepy, tired, draggy morning for me but now that the meds are taking effect I'm feeling a bit better. I hate having to depend on pills to keep me out of bed and moving around and being able to think past the end of my nose. But that is part of fibromyalgia and I am going thru a bad round of it right now as far as the fatigue and emotional issues are concerned. This afternoon I'll give all the energy and bounciness I can muster to my job and then tomorrow morning pray that GOD will give the energy to get to church. Then I have until Wednesday(most weeks)to recuperate. This week tho Jack has doctor appointments on Monday at VA. That will be an all day affair I fear. Must remember to take magazines or a book. They have had the same ones for months and I am so tired of the same thing to read over and over. Maybe I'll buy some new ones and leave them there when we are thru. It would be an act of mercy for others who must also sit for hours at a time waitng to be seen.
Howie, I went to your blog and read up on the MRI results. I feel so sorry for you. Like me, you aren't getting all the wonderful expected results from weight loss. This is just a fact of life we have to live with and it isn't fun, but we must continue because it is the right and best thing to do for our overall health. We may not feel any better, but we know we are and at least we look better. I know there are millions out there in the same situation. To those, I say, keep losing because there are many benefits that we don't see or feel.
I went to the mypyramid.gov. site. I was please tho surprised to read that thousands of pounds of Atkins diet foods and other brands are being donated to the Christian Appalation(?)food funds as well as being shipped around the world to the needy. As was stated, even diet food is better than no food. Many of these foods are fortified with vitamins and minerals and are high protein, low carb in content. To a starving person that can be important tho they need some carbs too. We find those bars in many brands at a local "distressed" grocery and sundry items store for ten cents each. I buy lots of them and keep them here for snacks and treats for Jack and I. The Momentum bars are usually nearly $4 for a box of 4 bars. We pay $.99 for that same box at this store. I just bought 16 boxes last week and we still have several boxes left from the the last big haul. When Shadoe is here he eats lots of them and nearly lives on SlimFast but at home rarely touches either one.
I need to go fix some lunch. Jack can eat what I brought home for supper last night for his supper tonight. We had pork loin for a special and there was some left over. I took that with lots of gravy and a baked potato with cheese on it for my supper. I always get lots so we can both eat or I don't eat it at all and let Jack have it. I feel guilty because I get to eat out 2-3 times a week and he doesn't eat out much at all.
GOD bless and keep each of you.
