This morning we went out to check the Brug.......
About 4 leaves of different sizes were lying on the patio!
Then I discovered what might be the culprit.....little bugs eating the younger leaves.....
Any suggestions will be appreciated........also some of the blooms shrivled up, this go round has me so frustrated.....maybe it's the AZ heat.....I've had it under the patio for the past week or so, as we have the monsoon winds.........I was so excited it was blooming again and now these problems have occured.......
Thanks,
Joni
Brug's leaves are dropping! Help!
Oh how sad!!!
Were the leaves green or yellow that fell? Any chance you could let us see pictures?
My brugs all got yellow leaves last week. I am hoping it was just the heat wave. The tops all look so good, I am not too worried. Maybe it was just normal. Brugs shed their old leaves and get new all the time.
Is it caterpillars eating the leaves? Esp the little green ones really can go thru your plant. If them, I use Bt., one spray and they are gone. Bt stands for Bacillus thuringiensis. It causes the cat to stop eating within an hour. Again a picture would really help. I also have cucumber beetles feasting on some leaves and flowers. I am busy squashing them.
Dry, hot wind can't be good. Any end in sight? I would spray the leaves a lot with water if you can to increase the humidty. Maybe someone else has some good ideas.
I sure hope it is OK.
Thanks for your message, It;s 8:15 p.m. and to dark to take a good picture.....I actually squashed about 4 little critters eating the younger leaves. The one's that fell were green and some were already yellow looking. Tonight as we were barbecuing, I walked by "Harriet" and lo and behold she was blooming! Only have one other that will make it......we had around 8 buds until those nasty little critters took over. It's so frustrating! I baby that thing like it was the only kid I ever had! I'll post a pic tomorrow. Last blooming my leaves were huge and deep green, these look sick! But we have had 100 degrees plus for over 30 days.......oh woe is me! It's thundering towards the mountains, so we are praying for rain......what's your weather doing? My family lives in Northridge, CA and they are roasting. If it's not an earthquake it's something else!
