I've got some of that cross, but the mites attack them. They're not doing well but I want to see it bloom because I love the look of Bert. I would love a cutting of Bert, but don't know where to beg.

Linda if you find a place to beg for Bert, let me know and we can double team them, lol, but the truth!!!

Congrats!
I bet your out there right now taking pictures of it in bloom..... Looks like a beauty in the making.

What an interesting cross. I can't wait to see the end result. Bert is so neat. I have never seen that bloom in person. Congrats Polly on your first seeding to bloom. The first of many!!

I wonder what the mite gene is. The texture of the leaf or the smell? There definitely is one, I can have a group of brugs side by side touching and only one will be covered in mites. The others do not get them.

He was open this morning (anything w/Bert on it has to be a he). FAirly good color for the first day - and the bloom is larger than ET's

Thanks, Kell - I'm peeling and soaking some more of Cala's this a:m; creamsickle crosses with colored "partners". You all got me wishin'!
Took a shot of my ginger lily this morning also; I am very fond of her. My yearling puppy had found and consumed half the tasty root, so I wasn't sure I'd see her bloom this year.

Polly, I have a friend named Bert and she is VERY beautiful, so there are some girl Berts. My friend's real name is RoBERTa, Bert is her call name. Your seedling is a beauty and so is the orange plant, both very pretty!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I think the Creamsickle crosses will be hot. I am pollinating my Cream sickle blooms now!! Last year I didn't at all if I recall right. The year before I think I only had a few pods on her last. Colored doubles here we come. LOL

Your yard looks like it is beautiful. I love that ginger. It looks like Bert's offspring is going to be special too! She or I mean, he is so pretty. He though looks like a she there. LOL
