Rain-not again!
Come on Mother Nature......Let's averave this out over TWO months !!
Rain I will take all I can get... getting wet just think of it like a time when it feels good to pull the weeds!
I'm surely not going to complain about too much rain after 42 days with none.
Yes, after losing so many plants - and almost a tree - to the drought, I'm eager to allow this water to soak in, deeeep. We need to get that deep moisture back!
LOL...I do notice that my place seems to perk up around here all of sudden after a good rain.....my yard guy is not gonna be happy...cuz he will have to mow with his big tractor mower this time around...lol...it is 4 acres of haybaling this mess....
maggiemoo, I enjoyed doing the Austin trip even tho I had to cut my trip short to get my friend back home...lets hope it don't rain on the houston plant Nursery trip...lol...
Nadine, that's why God invented umbrellas! ;-)
I know ...but...but...
Now if I can just take off work and pull weeds til I get them all out. The back yard is really sunny and there the dirt is nice and wet, but in the front under these huge trees it was actually kind of dry. The nerve of that dirt to be dry after all that rain. We were digging trenches to make a foundation for the sidewalk. The grass was wet and slippery, but the dirt was not.
Yes, Mary Lee I have come to regard the amount of rain I receive by whether of not it has soaked the beds under the trees. If they haven't gotten good and wet, the rain was not a really good one (to me). I don't complain about the other rains, just know they didn't water very deep (even in the exposed beds.)
Keep it up! I have received about 5 1/2 inches since it began....I wish we could get another 2-3 inches real soon. Heard we may be in for a dry spell this week.

Aw, shucks!
They say we will get rain Thur up here.... cannot wait!
Whoever sent us your rain, THANK YOU! Yesterday afternoon we finally got our first measurable rainfall since May. That 9/10 of an inch helps. For several weeks we have watched storm after storm go around us or the line would split at the edge of Mills County and leave us high and dry in the middle. It's showering a little again this morning. Keep sending it our way!
Send some down here to Houston too! I don't expect it to cool down before Halloween (LOL) but we do need rain!
