Does anyone know of any plant whos leaves are a dark dark purple color? Does this exist. I've seen on called Black Magic, but I think they were bulbs.

Dark Purple Leaves
Black Magic is an elephant ear, a Colocasia. You can also find sweet potato vines that color. Is there something you have seen or are you just looking for something?

I'm just looking for something pretty. I have an idea in my head to do a basket with dark purple leave and pretty pink flowers.
Dark purple leaves and pretty pink flowers....
Sounds like a Tradescantia purpurea to me.

Depending on the shade of purple, there is also the lovely metallic persian shield and Alternanthera Purple Knight.
Came back to change the name. LOL

Those both sound great Badseed. Now I have to hunt them down. Any idea where I can find them?
Around here, they are usually fairly easy to find in the annuals. How much are you wanting? I can root the Persian Shield, not sure about the Alternanthera.
Just need one, do they grow pretty big?
Did you find your plants? I got side tracked, sorry! I do have a smallish persian shield rooted already and am waiting to see if the Alternanthera pulls out of it's funk. I kind of left a few small ones in cell packs in the greenhouse while it was 100. OOPS! I moved them out to the yard to see if they will be okay.
I went everywhere and couldn't find them. A couple of places online where I found the persian shield were sold out.
black magic is a colocasia

thanks ely, I will try searching for those.
what about "blackie" sweet tater vine.. that would look lovely in a basket
Whoops Ely!!! That is what happens when the fingers go quicker than the brain!
If you want the tater vines, I can stick those in too. I didn't think you were interested in them. :)
That would be great. Thanks
