Another Hawkeye joining in!

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi there!

I'm Gayle, and we just bought our first (and if I have anything to say about moving again, only!) house last fall. My own yard!!! Ok, the backyard is all downhill, but hey, it's MINE!

My front yard faces north, and I have already ripped up half of it. Nasty half dead nevergreen bushies. I'm starting with hostas ("Royal Standard" is my only one named) and I plan to sneek a few "Endless Summer" hydrangias in there too.

I can't spell and I have a warped sense of humor, but I like flowers and herbs. My DH is the veggie guy. Poor DH, he had to plant in swimming pools this year untill we can level this yard a bit.

So Hi from the tri-states!

Hi Gayle - welcome to davesgarden!

Welcome Gayle! Nothing is more fun than a first garden. You are so blessed to have a place like this for help.Back when I started over 30 yrs ago, most of the info out there was
from England. I had to laugh about hubby's planting space. In my 1st garden my hubby (his 1st also) made raised rows for veggies and planted the seeds in the bottom of the rows! They all drowned in our Louisiana monsoon season. Have fun & give a hollar if you need any help. Ginger Gaia

Welcome to the Garden Gayle!
If you don't have a comfortable chair pulled up to your computer now, you'll soon need one, as you'll find yourself spending more and more time here. Dave's Gardeners are so friendly and knowledgeable, they make this place addictive. I have also learned that most are enablers when it comes to "feeding your lust" for flowers.
Just wanted to wave Hello to you from over here by Waukee, Iowa (Cyclone Territory :-)

Welcome to DG Gayle from me in Frederick, Md :)

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Pull up a chair Iowaron? I'm thinking I need to get a laptop so I can be in DG and my recliner at the same time. Maybe I should pitch a tent, I'm already camped out here.

What's the price of a lifetime membership?

Hello Gayle! Welcome! I'm from Cedar Rapids and there are a few of us DG addicts over here. If you haven't run into Wandasflowers on DG yet, you should look her up. She's a good friend of mine and a genius with plants (and SHARES her extras)! Hope to see you at the Iowa round-up next May. Check it out in the roundup forum. Linda

Bloomingdale, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks Linda!

I haven't "met" Wanda, but I've "read" her. Lol, that has to be the goofiest thing I have ever typed. I was checking out the round up, but its a fair drive for me. Would anyone be interested in a smaller eastern Iowa get together? I'd be willing to host it at our Arboretum here in Dubuque. They have a fantastic hosta display..........
