I toss a couple sprigs of mint into the glass carafe of my drip coffee maker. The coffee drips onto the mint and then steeps (sp?) as the pot brews. The longer the pot sits, the stronger it gets. Makes even cheap coffee taste great.
I've used it with plain mint, spearmint and chocolate mint is really yummy. But something named "Candy Mint" is awful. Actually, I haven't found I like that "Candy Mint" much yet. Not even in lemonaide. *shrugs*
let me know if you try the mint in your coffee,

I have tried the chocolate mint in instant coffee. I put it in the water when I boil it in the microwave. I only use instant when I'm REALLY wanting a cup of decafe bad and don't have any around as I don't care for it that much. I'll sure try this, though. I don't know why, but it never occured to me to put it in the coffee pot. Thanks for the idea. I'm a big coffee fan.
I've never put mint in the carafe (though I'm making tea). I've always put it in the basket, inside the filter. Same with my other herbs...

I tried it in the basket first for a while, then I tried it in the carafe and found the flavor is so much more intense. That last cup is so refreshing I tend to save it for the afternoon and make an iced coffee with it. Especially in the last week with our high afternoon temps, whew it's hot out there today. Too hot to garden, but never too hot for DG!
