I come from a long line of cats, apparently.

My little brother sent me this message today:
=====================================

Guess what everyone, my bike was taken out by a truck today .. Looks like it's totaled.

Traveling down Rt 146 south, slow lane, going approx 50mph , I see a big truck
in the mirror, coming at a high rate of speed ... I try to hit the gas, but not enough
time .. SMACK, right into the back of the bike ..

So there I am, thinking that I'll be under that truck, and getting mangled up into
street pizza ... But surprisingly, the bike is wedged deep into the front of his truck,
and it didn't fall over..

The truck driver decides to apply the brakes, finally, and both vehicles come to a stop..

I get off the bike and just look at it in awe, amazed that it is still standing there in an
upright position, wedged into the truck..

The firemen & cops couldn't believe how I walked away from that accident !!!

So, any recommendations on what bike I should get next ? ....hehehe

I think he should get a tricycle, and stay on the sidewalk. He's used up all nine of his lives, and he's not even a cat. Whew! I feel more shook up than he did.

Yes, he should try a car. A car with lots of reinforced steel that's as big as a tuna boat. When I worked Trauma we used to call motorcycles 'donor cycles.' Of course, when you work Trauma you get a warped view of the world because all you see are the cases that didn't work out too well. The millions of people that drive them without major incidents don't check in with you to tell you that everything's okay. I don't think about it so much now that I don't work in the hospital anymore.

I'm very thankful that his accident worked out okay.
