naien--yes I would be interested in seedlings when they can handle the stress. Let me know when they are ready please! Thanks!!

BassetMom--I have foot long beans (Dong Kwa), Rat Tail Radish, and various other things. Want me to just pick a couple and send in exchange?? You can send the seeds for this with the plants from the Co-op if you like!! Save on postage that way! Thanks!!

Will do, Bonnie. We're looking at end of August for the co-op now.

And, any seeds would be fine. If not for my own garden, we'll add to Ellie's stash for her next Seeds of Hope sale.

What is the lantern plant that has green lanterns & goes to seed? My lanterns never turn orange?

Thanks,
Abigail

The green lantern that goes to seed--a vine perhaps?? If so then it is Love in a Puff, Balloon Vine, Heartseed (Cardiospermum halicacabum) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/648/index.html

If it grows a fruit inside it is
Tomatillo, Husk Tomato, Miltomate, Tomate de Fresadilla (Physalis ixocarpa)
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/31748/index.html
used in Mexican disks as a salsa--flavor is very mild!! Delicious if prepared with just the right herbs and spices!! Hope this helps!!

BassettMom--I would like to try the Peruvian Ground Cherry seeds (physalis peruviana)--you can pick from my veggie list when I get it ready--am getting rid of ALL my veggie seeds.

I am REALLY looking for this one though:

Chinese Lantern Plant, Strawberry Ground Cherry (Physalis alkekengii) http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1894/index.html

With this one I do not PLAN to eat the fruit. I just remember seeing these lovely orange lanterns when I was a child.
