Summer blooms

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

This is one I'll be watching this summer. It's an unnamed seedling from last year. The first flush was single blooms and it came close to going into the compost pile.
The second flush is blooming double and singles.

Oh goodness Terry, they are all so pretty! It's amazing how the blooms can change in the second year. I'm learning so much as time goes on. You have some beauties there!

I am wondering.. if you take a cutting from a branch that is just producing double flowers, will the subsequent plant have all doubles?

Great pictures. I wish we could have a couple more months before frost. Things are finally starting to pop a little.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The tendency to produce double and singles in one flush is a controled by the genes.
It wouldnt help to propagate a branch, which produces double flowers.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)
