Lots of hot days this summer, My garden is a bit on the wild side. Except for my hostas, I don't plan very much, just plant and move it if I don't like it. ;-)
I'm having trouble getting general garden-scapes to come out with any clarity. The new digital camera is still being learned - we lost the not-so-old favourite camera over the winter. But my individual plant shots are working fairly well.
I'll start with a vigourous Jackamani Clematis. This one nearly didn't make it. The first year I thought I'd lost it. Was already to take it back to where I bought it when it put up a shoot. It's taken a few years, but the last couple of years it has looked like this.

Some pics from my Ottawa garden
Wow....................full of blooms. Really fantastic.

When I saw this viola playing frog I had to have it.
He's in the middle of white and purple Cup and Saucer Campanula - a biennial about which I'm never sure where it will appear. (I'm lucky if I don't weed it out the first year). There is also Lavatera which is not yet big enough to bloom. Probably pink, but I've had some white as well. A few field daisies and there is a rose which blooms yellow but is not blooming right now.
Give me anything which looks like a daisy.
Here we have Shasta daisies, pink Echinacea and white Echinacea. I think there may also be one which hybridized from the two because it doesn't seem as dark a pink.
The red is Maltese Cross which is too tall for its location. Was new last year and didn't grow even half as tall.
An overview of the back garden - not as sharp an image as I'd like, but ...
To the far right is some purple Cleome and there are 6 - 8 Lavatera plants only one of which is large enough to bloom. There are some lilies in the mix but they bloomed their last before thunder storms last weekend.
There are a number of yellow calendula scattered here and there - most not yet blooming and some evening primrose which is past its primary bloom. When I get them all deadheaded, I might get a bit more.
Behind are about 15 or so tomato plants and some squash - zucchini and butternut.

Very nice garden indeed, Ann. I have lilies very similar to yours. Don't you wish they'd last a little longer? I love 'em. I think your daisies and Echinacea are lovely, but my favorite is the Cup and Saucer Campanula. We are having pretty hot days these past few weeks ourselves, been in the thirties for the past several days and is supposed to continue all the way into next week. Everything is growing well, but you just don't dare miss a day without watering them, right?
Thanks for sharing your pretty photos. :)
Lovely photos Ann. Your clematis has an incredible number of blooms on it. The frog is perfect.

There is a very active iris society in Ottawa, - just in case you are interested.
Inanda - always promoting iris & Lilium
Lovely pics Ann....must admit after seeing your pic I wish I had replaced my Jackamani Clematis this year.
Love all your flowers,
Wilma
great gardens, thanks for the pictures. Lovely clematis
Gorgeous pics, especially the clematis. Thanks for showing.

Nice collection Ann. It amazes me how we in Newfoundland can catch up on some plants yet be so far behind on others. Our Maltese Cross and Canterbury bells are also open but the Shasta Daisy and especially the Echinacea are just barely in bud! Our Echinacea bloom in mid-late September!
I think the Echinacea is early this year as it has been exceedingly HOT most of June and July. Shasta Daisy, OTOH, seems to be about the same time as usual. Don't know why.
