I'd say she is showing her stuff! What great markings. Do you have your umbrella up for the plants? What a great idea for shade!

It is so pretty Roz, I meant for my poolside to look like yours!

Donna , that is the one on the south side of the pool. I really went overboard planting this year, following Barbara Ward's advice: If you have weeds, you don't have enough planted!

I really don't think the ele. ears have done as well this year as they did last year, on the north side of the pool. Ely, didn't you say they may be too crowded? I dug lots up, but they are still not growing like they did last year. Mel, the umbrella is in front of the flower bed, I am standing down by the wall. We built up the bed on that side of the pool. Actually, the bed was a slope on that side, so we squared it off and made a wall. One year, I actually DID use an umbrella over a brug! It was the first year I had brugs, and it drooped so badly.

my thoughts on it is, if it sends out stolon fibers and the pup has roots the mother is still feeding the pup till winter. as long as they are connected the mother is still feeding the babie. which it is sending energy that it could be using to get bigger to feed something that can be growing by itself. also we had a cool spring we have has dampened everything.

Dug them up????? Hope you saved one for me when you did!! LOL!!!!!!!!

Janet, I did same you one, for sure.

Eley, that is probably the reason that when I dig up one and plant it someplace else, it does so well. I noticed last year that when I dig up an ele ear and replant it, it just did great, but in the same spot, not as well.

Your ears are beautiful color! Great looking!!

roz, were are your nancyanaes planted? full sun? how much water? gorgeous.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

Thanks everybody .

Mine are planted in full sun, in the ground, lots of water, well drained. They get watered every day, by rain and the automatic sprinket when it does not rain, but they are very well drained. Also, I fertilize with 20-20-20 about every ten days or so.
