This was planted in the ground, and last year, it had some growth, but nothing like this year. I planted about 15 different bulbs two years ago, and last year two came up and bloomed; this year one one more came up and bloomed, and about six other little plants came up too. They have not bloomed; much tto small. Maybe next year.

Roz, it looks like my Domestica, also known as Longa.

Do you remember if the rhizomes were an orangeish color? The rhizomes for domestica..aka Longa is the spice turmeric.

It has been so long since I planted it that I don't remember what it looked like. It is a pretty ginger.

I tagged the bulbs when I planted them, but with mulch and time and the fact that I did not see anything for two years, the tags have all been pulled up and not where they should be, I am sure. I found some tags that said Miss Pearl, Malanga, The Empress, Lapada White, Snow something, and some more I cannot make out. A real mystery garden. Maybe as the others bloom, we can identify. One that bloomed is the Siam one, I think.

The siam one is the one that is "tropic something"LOL
tropic snow, that is, I have that one, it is the most common siam tulip ginger, so it is probably the one you have, but it is not the one in the picture. Could it be curcuma emperor??
