Wow, Tropicman. I did not know that is a bloom. I think I may have something like that on Nancy.s Revenge. So, can we propagate two different kinds, like Black Magic and Nancy? If so, do you know how? I will send you the whole blooms and the pollen that is probably someplace in it if you want to try.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Not sure about cross hybrization, but yes probably.
But the heat did my bloom in today, looks like it melted in the 100* heat, not sure there is anything left to pollinate, might have been possible if I'd had the pollen the first day it opened.
Thanks, will keep it in mind if I see a bloom again this summer and contact you.maybe yours will be in bloom again at the same time.
Thanks
Don

Well I'll be...

I never knew these flowered. It's my first year with about 5 of these, they are growing well, but no flowers yet.

Thanks for the photos

These were held over from last year, didn't grow much during the winter,in the greenhouse, stayed about the same maybe one or two new leaves all winter.

I love that banding on the spathe!

I've been reading that constructing a wet paper towel cage around the spathe helps the pollination. You have to have a humid environment.

Here's a site on the mechanics of hand pollination.
