old tom cat sprays!

Our old and not too friendly tom cat sprays the outside basement windows when other cats and dogs have been around. I just go out and hose and wash them down. But after our dd's dog visited yesterday I think Kitty sprayed in the basement. EEEE gads. what can I do? I will be down on my hands and knees sniffing later on for "the spot".
He's neutered. Wish I could stick a cork in it!!!
