Garden pond kit

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I need advice on my first waterfall garden kit. I saw this garden pond kit on the store it was 100.00 dollars. It comes with everything, pump, filter. Its not the fiberglass pond black liner. Its more like plastic liner brown color.Im wondering if this pond kit will last long. I saw it at Garden Ridge pottery. Do i dig? how far down? What do i add for no cracks on this pond liner to support? any ideas!! Would be helpful?

can you find a picture of it on the net and post a link ?
you could set it on the ground then backfill up to it with top soil
and then lay flatrocks up to it, or yep, dig a hole and drop it in.

See if you can find out what the liner is made of and its dimensions. Sometimes kits are fun to start with and sometimes you end up being disappointed by the size or quality of the materials once you get the box open.

I am sure you would be better off to order a good piece of liner from someone like AZPONDS and a good little pump. In my experience..the kits use the cheaper liner and pumps and wont last as long. Some of the cheaper liners have been reported to last only a couple of years (though you will hear of other that lasted a long time)..

Putting in a water garden...esp if you want any fish..is alot of trouble for a temporary thing for me.
