I know that you guys get tired of me and my problems. But being a beginner I have LOTS of questions. I have been trying to research my first Lotus. A Perry D Slocumn. I have my first bud. I "planted" it this past May. I have gotten so excitied about it. But to my big dismay, I went out to check on it this morning and found a little black worm having a field day on its leaves. I picked it off and threw it into the pond for the goldfish. I went back this afternoon and found three more. By their droppings you can tell that they are having a feast!! Is there anything else I can do to prevent these creatures from getting to my bloom? I don't know what I can or cannot use on a lotus. Thanks, Melanie
Help!! AGAIN!!
I have not have many bug problems with my lotus..if you can avoid getting it in the fish pond...I would suggest liquid sevin...otherwise do a google search for
insecticides for water plants
I'm sure you will find some safe recommendations for fish ponds.
The liquid sevin will go on this evening!!! I have my lotus beside my pond not in it. I know that lotus can be very funny about their surroundings I just don't want to kill it!! If those blasted worms get my bud..........!!!!!!! Thanks
