Iochroma Gone Crazy!!

Northern California, CA

This Iochroma http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/51675/index.html is using 'Frosty Pink' as a trellis and is now about 9' tall. 'Frosty' is shading the plant too much so it tends to flop a bit and get leggy, but seems to have overcome the short comings of its location by reaching for the sky.

Have you seen the huge tree of it at Berkeley Horticultural Candy? It is so tall with a big single trunk.

Your pics are stellar as usual.

Oh yeah, it's absolutely beautiful

She is getting way too tall to enjoy......and is creeping through to the front of the bed. Next fall she's gonna get pruned and tamed. :-)

Kell I don't remember seeing the one at Berk Hort, but I sure will look for it next time I stop by there.

Glad you all enjoyed seeing this tall thing!

Kathy this plant is two years old and was still fairly slow growing last year at about 4' tall.

Well considering mine's over 6 months old, I'd say yours was growing 3 times faster than mine is LOL. Go figure. I don't know what i'm doing, but I sure wish they would grow. Mine were about 3 in tall when I got them though.

The wine one is gorgeous!
