I bought one and want to see what it looks like
Does anybody have a pix of Lemmony Snickets?
Nery, I just did a quick search and couldn't find it, but I'll keep checking.
if anybody can find one, YOU can. I looked and didn't find it. thanks, Clare.
Nery, I'm still trying to locate a picture and need to know the grower's number. The cutting you bought should have had a tag on it with the grower's booth number. If you can give me that number, I'll be able to locate the grower and, hopefully, a picture.
Nery, do you still have the tag of 'Lemmony Snickets'? It should have a booth number on it. If you will give me the booth number, I can find out who the grower/seller is, and then we can ask for a picture. Also, the tag should have had the grower's name and phone number on the back of it too. Let me know:-)
Clare
Clare, I looked up my data and the grower is Kathy Roszell of NE houston. I called her at home and had a very pleasant chat. She told me in 1986 she went to Hawaii w/ the Plumeria Soc. and visited the UH gardens maintained by a Mr. Crowley (sp?). He would not let them take cuttings but she did get seeds from seedlings and that's how she got her plant. She named it Lemmony Snickets, obviously because of the color. I didn't ask her if it was registered. She also told me she met Jim Little but I can't remember how that ties to the story, sorry. Anyway, she's having computer problems but she told me she will send me a pix when resolved, and I will share then. I mentioned Daves Garden and when she gets in touch w/ me I'll direct her to this wonderful website.
Kathy told me the plumeria sale this w/end went quite well and she sold everything she had. candy stripe, daisy wilcox, iris sunset, K. sunburst, K. sunset, Kimo, Lemon Chiffon plastic pink, samoan fluff, to name a few.
thanks, Clare.
Oh, good, Nery. That's an interesting story. I can't wait to see the blooms! I'm glad you were able to get in touch with the seller.
