I ordered more Plumerias

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

I had a couple, a common yellow that didn't smell nearly as wonderful as I had hoped, and an Aztec Gold that did. I also have a Rainbow cutting I'm starting. I was a bit disappointed in the fragrance of the yellow so I thought I'd find it a more appreciative home, see how the Rainbow did when it bloomed, and just have the AG. Weeell, a friend came by with baggies of plumie flowers her DH had brought from Hawaii, and I read Clare's post about fragrances. Dang! I got all excited again. So I've just ordered 3 more from Florida Colors. I'm getting Negril, Charlotte Ebert, and Grove Farm. Am I going to like them?

LOL, Judy! Congrats on your purchases! Yes, you are going to like them! Negril smells spicy and is said to smell like cloves. Charlotte Ebert and Grove Farm are favorites with big blooms and a fabulous fragrance; I have them both but have not yet had flowers on mine as I just got them last summer about this time. Mine are still small. Did you get them grafted, or are you going to root them? They tend to root slowly so be prepared to bring them in this fall and put them on a heat pad. With luck, you'll have flowers on them next summer. Congrats!

Edited to fix spelling.

I've ordered them grafted but I don't know what to expect. What will I get?

Oh, that's good! You will get a plumeria with roots! Grafts are wonderful, and no one is better at them than Luc of Florida Colors. He gives grafting lessons when he visits and lectures at Plumeria Society meetings and will show you how to graft plumerias one-on-one if you ever stop by Florida Colors. He and Carol, who own FC, are the nicest people.
