Blue Butterflies flying in the garden

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

Clerodendrum ugandense that is. I am surprised a bit at the hardiness of this plant or maybe it is because we didn't get that cold of a winter this past year. The plant came back from below ground level and started blooming several days ago.

I think they are hardy. Mine survived a frost and snow. I think they are the coolest looking flowers! Have any gone to seed? I found a berry on mine yesterday. They turn into purple berrys.

Ely, you are welcome to take cuttings of mine.

Capistrano Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Roz, do you have any cuttings for me? i've never seen this plant and it's gorgeous.

Crestview, FL(Zone 7b)

Ely.. you are welcome to cuttings or extras of anything I have when you come to visit.

Gulfport, MS(Zone 8a)

I can send cuttings, but I don't have a clue how to root them, naien. Anybody know how to do this? I could also send some seeds to you - might be easier.

Knoxville, TN

How sweet this plant is! Has anyone in Zone 7 or below had this plant return? It seems worth a try to plant it in the ground and save a cutting.
Roz, I rooted a cutting in vermiculite and it did great. It seems to be an easy one to propagate. If memory serves me, and it does not always serve me, I rooted one in water with no problem too.

Granbury, TX(Zone 8a)

They are supposed to root in water, I root mine in potting soil easily with about 80% success. They are root hardy to zone 8. I just love the ungandense. My favorite clerodendrum!
