So here's my thread with our surprizes.
Firstly, we tied the knot. June 18th, and have some photos posted, but I have to have your email addresses to send the invite if you'd like to see the pictures. I still have to add more, so once you have the link, you can check to see if theres more added. Please send your email address to me and I'll send out the link to you. It's a 'private' album and can only be seen with the invite, otherwise I'd post the link here.
Secondly, I broke down and got a pond.
I didn't sink it into the ground because we are renting and didn't want to leave it for the landlord when we leave this place. My DW was very taken with lotus when we were visiting Toronto so I got a couple. They are Alba gradiflora white, and Americana yellow. I took all they had. I also got a black taro, and a Alocasia macrorrhiza. I had 4 goldfish, but now have 3.
2 surprizes
Congrats!! Beautiful, healthy plants! Look great together. I would luv to see the pics. Email on the way.
:) Donna
Linda it is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!! :D Ü :D
Well, I said it once, but I'll say it again. Congratulations you two!! Couldn't be happier for ya'
But I didn't know about the pond. Linda, it's gorgeous. Perfect for your conservatory. I like that idea, because it will be protected from the, ok, let's see, the snakes, the birds pooping, herons, raccoons, skunks and cats and the leaves that will eventually fall from the trees. Great placefor it. I don't blame Cheryl, I think Lotus are beautiful too. Can't wait to see your blooms. Love the Black Taro and wish my Pumerias were as big as yours. But they are growing.
I am sending my e-mail addy so I can see your happy smiling faces on the big day. :) Thanks Linda.

PS... nice-looking pond!!!
Congrats again, you have my email addy and I'd love to see the pictures.
Your pond looks great. Is it on the porch where the brugs were living for the winter? Where did you find the lotus? I think I'm going to try and find some for my pond in the conservatory as the water lilies aren't doing great. Maybe it's too warm for them. I need to find some tropical lotus. Any ideas where?
Loved the photos, Linda and Cheryl. Looks like it was such a happy day. So many memories for many eyears to come. I loved them all but my favourite one was # 40, with # 7 a close second. Thanks so much for sharing. You both look so happy. :D
Thanks again for the compliments.
Donna, the one with the bubbles is a favourite of ours too, and yes, we are still very happy.
Jeanne, I have it out on the deck that all the brugs were stored. (what I'll do with them in the fall now that the pond is taking up space is a problem I'll deal with later.) I found a place in Victoria, called pacific ponds www.pacificponds.com They have lots of water ilies, about 40, but only 4-6 different named varities, costing about $40. I took their last 2 lotus (yes I can be a greedy little thing) and don't know when they'll be getting any more. I found them to be really helpful, but maybe that's because I knew nothing to start with. Have you checked with Dinters, or others in Duncan/Naniamo? I didn't do an internet search there, but will let you know what I find.
Linda and Cheryl
Wow!! What wonderfull news! I too would love to see the photo's as soon as I figure out how to email you directly. (if I can't figure it out this go round I'll get Lynn to help me)
I couldn't be happier for you both and as my Nicole say's you must be" over the moon".
The Pond is definatly an adventure in gardening and knowledge as I've watched Lynn and her creation evolve. It's like the energizer spot for her so I watch to see if you feel the same way. The black taro has great color and the fish look like they would glow in the dark, have you named the 3 that you can still find?
Many X's and O's for you both.
Ann
Linda, many congrats!!!! So happy for you. I would love to see the pics!
Your pond looks great!!!! I was away for two days, and came home to a floating heart flower, a pickerel rush flower, and a corkscrew plant flower!!! Very exciting. I've only had 2 waterlily blooms so far.
Your elephant ears look good. Are those ones you got at Costco??? Only one of mine survived and is doing well, although it needs to go from the pot to the ground. I took a good sized leaf off and did a cement casting last week. Will post a pic once I take it out of it's bath! And it has started a second plant within the pot, so maybe I will have a bulb for Sandy!!!! And I will have to protect it from the deer(we had 6 in the yard at one time the other day!! 3 babies!!!)
By the way, I think you asked me a question in another thread about lotus. I still have one that is thriving, but not thriving well!!! It has sent up two new leves over the last couple of weeks, but the platn doesn't look healthy at all. I may need to break down and just buy a good sized plant, instead of trying this "FROM SEED" lotus.
Anyway, enough rambling. All the best to both of you.
Glenda
So far, everyone that has asked for invites to see the photos, should be able to. Let me know if you can't and would like to.
Linda
Congratulations Linda. I'll send you my email address so I can look at the photos too.
Lucky you!! Your pond looks beautiful with all the great plants you've found for it. I'm so jealous. Everybody seems to have a pond now except me.
Glenda, don't worry about getting an EE bulb for me. The one you traded me at the RU is slowly but surely coming along. It's only about 3" tall but each new leaf is a little bit bigger. Here's a picture. I think it's pretty cute.
