The NHL players and the owners SIGNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hockey Night in Canada
well it really doesn't matter to me as I am not a hockey fan
the only hockey I watched was when my kids played hockey at the local CC
Wilma
I was on the organinizing committee for the Ontario handbell festival which was held in the Corel Centre here in Ottawa in May. With no hockey, the venue came about $15,000 less expensively. ;-)
Are there any NHL fans left in Canada?
LOL.......beginning to wonder! Mind you mainly women belong to this forum.
True, but I think they lost fans of both gender. I suppose I could get interested again some day, but I still feel bad over the Jets leaving. sort of.
Never had that problem here. ;)
I'm sure they lost some but when the cold days of winter come I expect I'll see my DH glued to the T.V. again.
Anyways just thinking about ice makes me feel a little cooler.
Yes the humidity makes a huge difference but didn't you just have a week with cooler temperatures?
We are supposed to cool down tonight and have a week in the twenties with rain off and on. We can use a *bit* of that now.
A couple weeks ago we had temps in the low 20's which is well below our averages this time of year. Our highs are usually in the 30 degree range. Sometimes we jump to as high as 36C, as is forcast for next week, but thankfully, not that often. :)
My NHL innocence was lost when the Jets left Winnipeg. Since then I have become an Oilers fan, but really am just tired of the whole commercial aspect of the NHL.
I am happy for all the young players coming up in the system, though - I like the fact that we in N. America can offer hockey as a way to make a living - for men, at least, and for a very few at that. It will be interesting to see to what extent the fans come back to it, and how long that will take.
I'd rather watch junior hockey than the NHL.
There have been many times my DH has felt the same. I was a HUGE Oiler fan, lived in N.Battleford then, and like now, could pick either Manitoba or Alberta, but I tend to be more interested when the playoffs start.
I want the Stanley Cup back in Canada......poor thing rusted in Florida! :b
Assuming a miracle could have happened, it would be rusting here too.
LOLOL......I knew someone would catch me on that! ;)
