on the incredibly hot and steamy prairies...... 103F (edited to say that temp includes humidex) and look what I discovered blooming! Remember Inanda I showed the little Epi bud to you.

Orchid Cactus Miracle
LOL....Yeppers to both Christine! It always amazes me to see the size of the flowers on these beauties. This one is about 4 1/2" across (a baby to some).
My Dad has had some bloom their first summer......from one single cutting. Depends on whether the mother plant was treated properly prior to the cutting. If you received it after it bloomed, however, it will depend on how you care for it.
Pretty impressive (the temp that is...the flower's OK too....LOL!)
LOLOL......I think that too Todd!;) I really didn't think it would make it.
Way to go, Pam!!! I have an epi that looks like the same color. Hasn't bloom yet but I did finally move it outside.
:) Donna
Thanks Donna.......am always hoping we don't ALL have the exact same red. ;)
Thanks Donna......it certainly made my day. :)
Pam, that's great, is it from your Dad's? Here's another DG link that you should post it on.
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/519518/ it's a great link of epi blooms.
Nope this one's mine. :) I'll have to ask Dad how his are doing.
I did post in one of Happenstances threads.........just to show her I *finally* achieved a bloom again. ;)
It's been about 6 years since I saw my last one.
