Great Spangled Fritillary on Ice Ballet butterfly weed ... I had three at a time on this plant but they're very skittish -- lots of blurred pictures!

Beautiful! The GSF is especially beautiful, since we don't have them here. I do like that Ice Ballet too. Do the Monarch cats like it as well? I have so much red and orange now that I need to throw in some other color.

Love the Tiger Swallowtail on the Butterfly Bush!! You have beautiful plants as well as beautiful butterflies.

konkreteblond --

Haven't seen any monarch cats, ever -- they must be hiding in the milkweed forest ... I cut some milkweed for a bouquet (love that smell!) and there were some eggs on them, but couldn't identify them as monarch eggs -- I put the cut plant back amonst the milkweed but there were no eggs last time I looked so don't know what happened -- yes, the ice ballet is nice and since this is my third year gardening I've decided that all plants don't need to be purple or pink! White is a nice addition and this plant attracts smaller butterflies too and lots of bees! The Spicebush don't seem to be interested in it but I expect Monarchs will ...

Beautiful pictures....

Thank you all -- I hope to get even clearer ones when I set up with a tripod ... I'm using a digital camera now instead of the old Nikormat I used last year ...
