I am so excited, I can't believe it, I actually have a picture to post! LOL
This is my first summer bloom on a rooted cutting given to me by a friend.
I have been staring and smelling at her for the last few days, and I have carried her all over the house like a newborn. I think I took more pictures of her than I did of my son, Max, when he was born.
Color started out white and changed to a light yellow with slight mottling.
Scent is heavenly. I am on cloud nine.
My bloom
Congrats. You are in for a lot of fun now.......I'd say hooked on brugs would probably fit. LOL! She is pretty. Looks like she will be peach in color before long. Isn't the smell awesome?
Congratulations ... let the fun begin!! Very pretty.
I like your plant behind your brug too, Jackie. Is that a ear?
Your brug looks so pretty!
Thanks guys! I have two more buds to watch now that are not far behind her...my first "flush" LOL
Oh yeah Shirley, I'm hooked alright. My other plants are doing nicely, but all I keep waiting for are Brug blooms, hehehehe
Kell, the plant behind is a gloriosum philodendron. The leaves are kinda velvety. I like it alot too :)
Oh my, I love it!! Philodendrons have been beckoning to me lately. I have been trying to resist.
So tell me, did you get everything to root?
LOL Kin,
Dinner? You mean I have to keep feeding the kids over the summer too? I've been tanking the kids up with freezie pops and Pepsi, and then unleashing them on the neighborhood.
Seriously, we've been very busy trying to improve the block. My little army of children have done three yards so far.
Two of the houses never grew anything but weeds before, so the kids dug and prepared the beds, planted seeds, water, weed, sweep, mulch and pick up trash. We are on a roll.
Do you rent these kids out? To California?? LOL
Your brug looks great! And how proud you must be of the kids! They are doing a teriffic job! What a heart warming thing!
LOL Kin, so was I!
What great fun for the kids. And if they find a love of gardening young, they will never lose it.
I did a similar thing with a family here that rents so never have the 4 kids had a garden to tend. I rented a plot and bought all the veggies etc for it to be planted. MIne didn't end so well, LOL. I now have another plot to tend.
Thanks guys, but it is the kids who are the inspirational ones LOL
I'm sorry that your lot didn't turn out so well, I admit that many times it is me who takes care of the flowers when the kids are otherwise engaged, and I have to keep on them some days too. I hope that they can take some of what I taught them and pay it forward in life.
Kell, I'm sorry I missed your previous post, most rooted great, but in typical Jackie fashion, I managed to kill a couple. LOL Thank you!! Just wait until next year, my rear garden will be Brug Heaven!
I have a rooted pink princess philo cutting, would you like it?
Shelly, thanks for the compliment. I am in love.
At least the kids got to eat their own zucchini before they totally lost interest. I still send the veggies home to them. I have no interest in it either. If it weren't so late in the season, I would rip it out and put in more brugs. LOL It is full of weeds which is a huge embarrassment to me. But they let them get going too far, I would have to spend a week clearing them. I have no time to do so. I hate how it looks.
None I sent can't be replaced. Email me, Jackie.
Jacki ... from one who knows. What you are doing is just wonderful. When I was a child ... my next door neighbor had a huge flower garden. I spent so much time in it. She took up a lot of time with me, and I'm sure she's one of the reasons why I love plants today. The memory of those flowers growing are very precious to me now. You'll never know how this will touch those kids in years to come! You're an angel!
What an inspiration you are Jax!! You are truly a roll model that gives me great hope for future generations!!! Ya got nice brugs too, congrats!!!!!!!!
Hey there ...special lady. Looks like you have done wonders... Not only with your flowers. A Good Job - well done.
