Anyone know when the kiwis produce flowers? I have someone who wants cuttings and I have no idea which are the male plants and which are female. I have 4 total (here when we moved in) and at first I assumed two males and two females but maybe there are 3 females and 1 male? Do only the females bare the fruit? Ours is a skinless kiwi type. I don't know much about it other than it definitely gets fruit and is the healthiest growing in our yard!
Thanks,
Gwen
kiwis
Only the females bear fruit, but both plants flower and it is difficult to tell the male and female flowers apart. The flowers are supposed to grow first thing in the spring. I have several skinless kiwi myself, but they are not big enough to produce anything yet.
These things haven't flowered yet. I know they produce fruit as they were loaded when we came to see the house and there were even a few left when we took possession.
