Hello from arid Northern IL

Palatine, IL

It has been a strange season here, and I have enjoyed looking at all the postings from all over the country! I decided on the name "boringgardener" because I was talking gardens with a friend and after 20 minutes or so, we became self conscious of how boring we would be to listen to by non-gardeners.
I am primarily a vegetable gardener, organic, and as long as I can put edible landscaping in the front of the house, I do a pretty good job with that too. Fortunately many herbs flower beautifully. Here is a red peonie from earlier this year--it is probably the most stunning non-edible I grow.
