Gardening for pets

Denver, CO(Zone 6a)

Two years ago my DH and I put in a sandbox for out three dogs to dig in. The theory being that if they have soft sand to dig in they won't dig in the rest of the garden. We hid treats in it at first to get them to go into it and now I have to say that it as been very successful. For the last two years we only have had one big dig fest in the garden and that was because we had just put some soft topsoil down. After I put one of those little - stick in the ground - fence sections there, no more problem.
When we added Cricket (greyhound) to our family the other dogs taught her how to use it.

They have a lot of fun and sand goes flying but I have clay soil to begin with so that is not a problem. It has been very successful keeping the dogs from digging up my plants.

What do the rest of you do for your pets in your garden?
