Found this cat eating my bastardii psuedacorus leaves. Anyone know him? I've seen one more today. Nice yellow tufts on his back.
Friend or foe?
It is the caterpillar of the Whitemarked Tussock Moth (Orgyia leucostigma) http://muextension.missouri.edu/explore/wildthing/whitemarkedtussock.htm

Hmmmm. Sounds more like foe than friend! Thanks Kennedyh! An answer in 4 minutes! I love DG!
Yeah, now THAT is a Tussock moth, and a cool looking one at that! But the moth isn't very spectacular.
oh how beautiful.
He's gorgeous! Too bad he's not a friendly...

Wow, for a destructive guy, he sure is pretty. Well, as a cat... I agree the moth is kind of bland. Neat, thanks for sharing...
You're welcome, Redmaggie.
