I had gone to the Plant Files and found there were no photos of Brugmansia 'Coral Glow'.
That is no longer a problem. It's the Very First Brug Flower I've ever seen, and smelled.
Beautiful!!!!!
Coral Glow......ing!!!
Hello Rich!!
Is this your Brug or a friend's, you didn't actually make it clear? Beautiful bloom!!!
Judy
that is a beautiful color,
Hi Rich. I'm glad to see you are feeling okay. Great looking flower you have there.
That second picture is just incredible. The first wasn't bad either. LOL. Ada is such a doll. Hi Ada girl.
Great job Rich!!
How's the fragrance - spreads around the area or requires nose insertion?
Thanks for adding to plantfiles as well!
WOW!!!
Wow, what a beautiful flower! That Ada is a real sweet peach!
wow that is beautiful... you have a super one..
Nice to see you, Rich, and your lovely brug, congrats!!!
Hello Everyone! Thanks for all the compliments on the blossom but I owe that all to whomever created 'Coral Glow'. Then as I said, Ada being kind enough to send me the cutting so I could experience a Brug Flower for the first time was more than wonderful. As for the fragrance, come within 15-20 feet and everyone walking by said, "What smells so good?" No one could agree on what the scent was similar to though. But it is very very pleasant. As far as I know there is only one other person in Gratiot that's ever heard of Brugmansia, and that's my mailman, Brian.
I also want to thank everyone for saying "Hi!" Not wanting to make too much of it, but I've had a couple of ambulance rides due to locals not understanding that there is nothing the doctors can do for me. And that's exactly what they say once I get to the Emergency Room. Educating the locals on Adhesive Arachnoiditis hasn't been easy. They just can't comprehend that the severe pain is just part of it, I'm already on the best of the best pain meds, and NO, it's NEVER going to go away. So just because they see me rolling around in my yard having one of my "Episodes" doesn't mean that an ambulance is going to help. After this last time I think the towns First Responders finally understand that between the "Break Through Meds" and Time alone are the only two things that will stop me from doing my Pain dances in public. Pardon me for saying this but, "God, I feel such a fool when it happens in Public".
Enough of the Medical Update!!!
Here's hoping All of You are having a Wonderful Summer! May all your Flowers (and Vegetables) show you to be the best gardeners in town. (Thanks at least in part to Dave's Garden, all the fabulous members, and all the great advice freely exchanged here)
Take Care and Love Ya All
Richard
Rich, I'm so glad you finally got to see and smell a brug bloom. I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time. I've worried so much about you but know that there's nothing anyone can do to take the pain away. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hi Rich,
I'm also glad you were able to see and smell that lovely brug. I've been very worried about you, and you are always included on my daily prayer list. Please know that we care.
Kay
