How did you get a waterfall that size for $30? I am looking for a much, much smaller one. Your water garden looks great.

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

someone in my area had it listed they also had a pump and liner and a sump pump that all went with it, the water fall is just made out of styrofoam and stucco and all wired together with chicken wire VERY easy to make, i have made some others just like it.

Awesome job! It looks great!

(Zone 9a)

I would have never guessed styrofoam. It appears to be real rock. From the spectacular set up and plant arrangement, it is clear you are an experienced water gardener.

thanks:)

i used to work at a water garden nursery so i have a little bit of xp:)

its all about how you put the stucco on the foam i also used construction foam to "glue" it all together

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Tell me more....
Is the stucco sticking to chicken wire?
I have some huge peices that I want to make into a waterfall
Do you just cover it and then add more to try to get the rock shapes?

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

Is stucco waterproof? Is hypertufa waterproof?

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

crested, i wired to s.foam to the chicken wire for support hmmm lemme take some pics and make a diagram when i get home tonight k?

ok here are some pics
when i make them i run wire through the styrofoam to the chicken wire/ hardwear cloth to shore it up then i use that yellow gap filler foam to "glue" it all together then i carve out the extra foam the next day then mix up the stucco to a peanut butter consitancy and kinda smack it on. let dry and whala!

So you use hardware cloth?
Not chicken wire?
Will stucco crack and leak?
Should I put a liner down UNDER the stuco where the water will be?
Can stucco be tinted?
If so,with what?

Oak Grove, MN(Zone 4a)

Tell us more! This looks like a great idea!

Citrus Heights, CA(Zone 9b)

yup you can tint stucco and if you put a good 1/4 inch coat it should not crack i have a liner under the falls just in case there is a leak cuz i dont want water under the liner or my pond walls to weaken from water and fall in
