I really wanted to move my 10 and 18 gal. pots before Dennis hit,but after moving one Bill said no way...they're too heavy. Just took a tour a bit ago and it looks as if all the brugs with buds hung onto them. Yippee! Poor babies look rather storm battered, but I don't think anything serious. I did however pick my only seed pod that had formed in Nov. Haven't opened it yet so hopefully it is ripe. That plant is in a spot that gets hit pretty hard by winds and after watching it since Nov. I didn't want it to blow away. :-))
Dennis wasn't too bad here, but we still have feeder bands to get through. The yard is pretty littered with leaves and branches. I just HATE having to rake leaves in the summer! Oh well...it could have been a whole lot worse.
I still have buds!
Im glad you escaped Dennis without injury and only minor damage. Glad your brugs are ok.
Even if the seeds arent completely ripe, I would plant them up anyway. I had a pod that was only 3 mos old fall off, and a suprising amount of seeds germinated even tho they were white. Wishing you luck!
Glad to hear you made it safely through the Storm. Boy oh Boy the violent weather you all go through this time of year. Must be so difficult having everything ripped to shreds after putting in so much work in your garden.
Best of luck to you and everyone else who has cleaning up and putting your life back together after the storm.
Whew!!! So glad you didn't have damage!!!
Judy
I'm glad everything is basically okay after the storm. Sorry you have the cleanup work to do though.
Cleanup for us will be a piece of cake. I feel so sorry for the folks who will have to redo what repairs they were left with after 2004.
I opened the seed pod....definately not ready to have been picked. Oh well...I'll try to get some of the seeds started. Since they are not really ripe should I still soak them??
I would just stick them in soil. They are already moist from being in the pod unless they have been out for a while. Good luck.
Thanks Brugie. Actually I opened it Sun. night I *think*....so I guess a soak would be in order.
