I started this plant last year from seeds. All of the blooms so far have had the purple outline around white petals. Then, I get this solid one.

No, the color is actually more purple. I don't know why it looks so blue.

That is a lovely violet! Did you know that you can officially name & register a variety you've grown from seed? I think it has to "come true" through 3 generations of leaf propagation... there's probably info on the AVSA web site.

My camera tends to register purple colors as that kind of blue tone as well. Even when I try to crank the image through my photo software and mess with the color balance, I can never get purples to come out quite right. That's why my photos often have some sort of note about the "real" color of the bloom!
