I have extra's of different perenials and grasses, If your looking for more plants for your beds and are in or near my area, I would be happy to share some with you! I would dig them and put them in a bag/box for you to take home ( Sorry, No potted ones) Most of these are mature. Some I have are Red Hot Poker, Lambs Ears, Snow on the mountain, Some rooted Trumpet Vine (Yellow), Blue Feusce grass, Lots of Ribbon Grass ( About 3ft. high) Yellow Yarrow, Some small Blue Balloon Flower and Gay feather, ect., Also must add 'Sorry', But these would be for 'DG Members Only.' So if anyone has any interest lmk, I live in NorthEast CT, Right on the border of Massachusettes, Rhode Island, And Connecticut. ~Iris
CLOSED: Anyone in or around my area....
Well, I'd love to, but that would be a bit far to go for me!
If you get desperate, maybe we can work out a trade? I don't have my list built yet, but if you don't get any responses from locals, LMK and we can see if I have anything you'd like.
Gail
Yes, It sure would be a bit far! LOL! And I will definately keep you in mind if I can't find a home for them soon, I would send them for postage though as I really don't have the room left for any more plants, Thats one of the reasons why I was doing it this way, I have no room for plants in trade and not much time for sending them. I just have exta's that are in-between plants and taking over area's which makes it bit hard to get in the areas and do what I need to do in there, feeding, weeding, ect. I have pathways, But, Can't see much of them anymore so wanted to thin it out a bit, And I figured the best way ( And easiest) would be to offer them to those in or around my area. Thanks for the offer of trading, And I'll definately keep you in mind.
I appreciate you keeping me in mind, but understand that it would be much easier to let a local have them. I've got a good friend that's been offering up her extras on our local freecycle group. Have you ever heard of freecycle? I hadn't until my friend mentioned it. Are you in a garden club of any kind or have a master gardener group locally? They might take some for a display or project garden.
If that doesn't work out and you can send me some for postage, I'd like some yellow yarrow, gayfeather, ribbon grass, yellow trumpet vine, and red hot pokers. I don't have any of those currently, except yarrow but mine is pink. Just let me know if you get "desperate" enough to send for postage. LOL Otherwise, no hard feelings! I know packaging and mailing takes time and I'm pretty hard-pressed for time to get my stuff done, too.
Good Luck!
Gail
Thankyou for the idea's 'And' understanding. I'm not in a garden club and not sure about a master gardening group in the area ( Can you tell I don't get out much??? LOL) But you just brought to my mind that I do belong to the Audobon Society and there are gardeners that go there so thats an avenue that I havent tried. Thank's Again! And I 'still will' keep you in mind.
The Master Gardener group is a "branch" of the county extension office. You might call your county extension office and ask for a contact for the MG group in your area. My MG group has several project gardens in our area. Specifically I'm thinking of the local Nature Center, where we have a butterfly garden and a native plant garden. If your local MG group has something of that nature they might like to have some of those!
Gail
I'll have to make an 'effort' and check into it, Thanks again Gail for all the info.
Hey neighbor!!!
We definately need to get in touch. I'm on the CT border!! I could walk to Sterling from here, no problem. Lets talk trade!!! :) There's definately a lack of yellow trumpet vine here, as well as snow on the mountain... I'd love to come for a visit soon. I'm a little swamped for the next two weeks, but this could be funnnn!!!! I'll bring you goodies, then steal some of yours? Can I bring a buddy? Or my dog? He loves road trips too....
-=LuLu
Hi LuLu! Glad you posted! We definately need to get together seeing we are only a hop, skip, and jump away from each other! Got quite a bit of plants to share with you, But as for myself, I really don't need any extras right now, I'm really trying to clear out the extras that I have here and trying to make a little more room for Daylilys, It would be fun anyway though, Could definately swap gardening idea's and such! If you want to take a buddy, Feel free to do so, I wouldn't mind your dog being here at all, But, I don't think my dog would like it too much as she doesn't do well with other dogs at all.
Just let me know when you'll have a chance to come and I'll give you my addy
I'm sure it will be fun, Especially seeing that your another DG'r! ~Iris
Iris,
JRush lives up in your neck of the woods, maybe she hasn't seen your post.

:^)))
If you are left with some of that yellow yarrow, I would really like some to add to my white, red, and pink. I would gladly pay the postage if you have the time to ship.
Perhaps I'll leave Rudy home then....no need to stress out your dog! I'm in the middle of a job shift, so I'm sort of "losing" a weekend. Thanks for the offers, and I hope to make time very soon!!! :)
-Lu
Moolymac, Thanks for bumping the thread up, I really would like to ship some out, But I honestly don't have the time to invest in shipping right now, I had a couple people that I am trying to do that for because there were small plants involved and certain circumstances, but, I really, really don't have the time to invest in anymore shipping right now.
I had someone that was nice enough to make the drive down and help me clear out some spots, And have a couple others that are going to come over, So hopefully I'll be able to get a bit more organized and not feel so overwhelmed that maybe I can eventually get some time along the way to offer some for postage.
...LuLu, I wish my dog wasn't so anti-social as I love dogs and would love to have met yours, But, Unfortnately she is and she's pretty set in her ways and not much I can do about it. Look forward to your coming over when you can find some time.
LOL, don't you worry about Rudy, he gets plenty of rides. Besides, I'd rather meet your dog at her happiest! :)
Hmmm, That could be a wide scale! LOL!
