There is something near Orlando besides Micky!

Hi,

I've new and LOVE this site! The people seem so friendly.

I'm a 5th generation Floridian and was in the Orlando area before Micky, thank you very much.

We bought a new house a couple of years ago and are beginning to renovate, starting with the garden!!! The yard was almost completely bare of plants except a tall shaggy hedge and the biggest bird of paradise I've ever seen. It must have been planted when the house was new 40 years ago. I'm putting in my dream garden with favorite plants from childhood on up. I'll try to get a before pic in if I can figure out how and will post some later ones soon.

Here's a pic of my dad walking near the bird to show it's size. The white wall is six feet high. The bird is approx 6X12 feet. Hope to have those new pics soon.
