A couple of months ago I helped a woman (now I call her a friend after all of our correspondence) put together a large pot of hoyas (we are talking 16"+) to give her parents for a 50th Wedding Anniversary. We decided upon a H. archboldiana to grow UP a trellis, in front of that H. naumanii and hanging around the edges, H. lacunosa. I sent the plants and she planted them...party is next month.
Yesterday, in the mail, I received the most beautiful Ukranian Egg: the wide bottom is the basket and the rest of the surface is a hoya blooming...with a gecko in the leaves. She hand painted it and it is just beautiful!!! With all of the made up names in DG, I don't know if she is a member... It touched me to receive such a thoughtful gift!!!
So, if you are here, Connie....Thanks again. I will try to post a photo....

Wow...it pays to have friends, huh? That is something one doesn't see anywhere. I'm sure you have a real treasure there.
Hey, I agree.....I want to see a picture of that pot of 16+ hoyas all together. That has to be a beauty! Her lucky parents!

She has promised me a picture of the party!!! and the gift!!
Yes...that egg is a treasure...not only the skill but the work and thought behind it!
What wonderful friends you both are. That is an impressive painted egg.
