Hello all:
I recently joined Dave's Garden. I saw lots of great info on the site and lots of people wiling to share their experience/ideas so I look forward to sharing info with you all!
I've been gardening for over 25 years, starting with vegetables and now concentraing on flowers (I don't have a lot of ideal space for veggies).
I consider myself to be always learning and my garden to be an on-going experiment. Weather conditions and light conditions constanlty changing from year to year (e.g. neighbors remove/add trees). Also, I'm frequently 'pushing the envelope' trying flowers and veggies in conditions that might not be ideal.
This year I've done a lot of container gardening, especially to get some sun for my vegetables -- but after a month of hot, dry days i'm getting pretty tired of all the watering.
Here's a section of the back of my back yard (picture taken facing E). There are red saliva in the center garden circling the stella d'oro daylillys (which just stopped their first bloom), but they are 1/2 dead (something is getting them, maybe earwigs, -- I keep working on it).
Hope I wasn't too wordy -- looking forward to sharing garden info with you all.
Sue
