'Jacob Cline' Bee Balm

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I have many rooted plants I have taken out of my bed. They are very healthy, and I have cut back the stalks. I would be happy to share. If interested, please send a large bubble envelope, stamped and self addressed to me. My address is in the exchange. I have enough for several people, so let me know how much you would like me to send and what you are asking for in your mail. Thanks.
Janet
I haven't done this before, so if I am not doing it correctly, someone help me, please! Thanks!

Okay, it would appear, (and I thank you for thinking of this!) I did not take into consideration the "HEAT" mostly because I avoid it at all costs, I am sure! LOL So, if you would like to send me postage , you will need to determine how much you want, I guess. LOL Boy am I messing this up. Anyway, if you can think of a way to take this off my hands...PLEASE....let me know! I am open to suggestions and have a lot to find homes for...

reopening just to let everyone who is getting plants know what is going on.

Hi Janet,
I would love some of your Jacob Cline Monarda but I am afraid it is too hot here for it to make it. Maybe we can do a trade in the spring. I have Marshall's Delight Monarda.
Winnie

Dayton, TX(Zone 9a)

i don't think they will make it in an envelope right now. wrapped well with damp paper towels in a cushioned box from the post office (they have some that are kind of triangle shaped) give them a better chance. wrapped well with newspaper, they should make it. I would be glad to send postage. Or , I could send you something, then you could send some back to me! Ruth

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

I would be happy to send you a priority stamp for a few of your plants. You'd need some kind of box to put them in. In cooler weather plants have survived bubble envelopes, but its getting hotter and hotter it seems , so they need a box. LMK, Doris

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Doris,
That would be great! I am sure I can find a box for your plants! Thanks!
Janet

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Ruth,
I DGmailed you. Winne, I don't think it would be too hot there...it is hot as blazes here! LOL I would be happy to send you some, and if it doesn't take, I will send more next spring. I can't seem to kill the stuff here, it grows in any soil and any type of light! LMK

You have Dmail from me.
Thanks!

Hi again Janet....

I think the free priority mail boxes the post office offers will be best. I think the one pound is around $4 and the two pound is around $8. They're pretty decent size boxes and the two pound box can hold quite a bit. They don't charge for the boxes themselves just the flat rate to send them.

My post office has them along the wall when you walk in. You just take what ones you need , slip your stuff inside and put the address on and pay and your done.

I would think wet newspaper around the roots to keep them from drying out. Probably have to cut the stalks back some to help them from wilting along the way. I would think Bee Balm would bounce back once in the ground and watered regularly.

Do you want postage sent via paypal or a check ??

Rockford, IL(Zone 4b)

I'd love some of the monarda, but I'm also new to this. What do you do when you send postage for the boxes?

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

I am going to the post office today to get the flat rate boxes. A check or postage label will be fine. I will let you all know what the flat rate boxes are as soon as I get up there. Thanks for your input and I am so happy to share this wonderful plant. The Hummingbirds just love it!
Janet

NEW CUYAMA, CA

I'm next in line; I would love several of your 'Jacob Cline' Bee Balm's Please.

I will be sending you postage for a one pound box and see what you can get in there for me.

Thanks,
Eddiegirl

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Okay, I have boxes...priority is cheapest. It is only$4.00, whether I get one pound or two in the box. I don't think any of them will be more than one pound though. I can put about a dozen nice size roots in each box. So, if you would please send me a mailing label and four dollars for postage, or a four dollar postage label (I guess that is what you call the metered labels? LOL) I will get as much as I can in each box. I am trimming the stems down. The roots are very healthy and some are trying to send up new shoots, so I think once it is in the ground it will perk right up. I will be boxing them up today, so all I need is the labels and postage to send them out. I will keep them cool and healthy till I receive those things and wet of course.
Thanks,
JanetS

I just wanted to say your picture is lovely. The balloon flowers in front of the monarda along with the variegated lilyturf make a nice composition.

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, Natuewalker, you may! Have lots! Thanks,
KC, it is one of my favorite combos. The monarda has overgrown so much you can't really see the variegated white callas, which really looked great two years ago, I will post that pic if I can find it...but since I have been unable to do much in theheat the past two summers, it hasn't been maintained like I would like...as everyone knows, if left to itself a garden quickly gets out of control! The clump of green not blooming is the Yellow/gold crocosmia, so one the other is about done they begin to bloom...

Oh wow, that *is* a nice combination!!!
Thanks for the extra pic!
It is always so inspiring when I see a really good combination of plants. Helps get my creative juices going.

markleysburg, PA(Zone 5a)

May I send postage for some Thanks SHirley

Bay, AR(Zone 7a)

I agree! Those callas are beautiful! And I love crocosmias.
Gail

Braselton, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, you may, Marclay! I still have plenty!
Thanks for the compliment gardengail, I love them too, I will have plenty to share in the fall so keep me in mind then. I know the yellow/gold will have to be divided and most likely some of the orange/red ones as well.
JanetS

Bay, AR(Zone 7a)

Thanks JanetS! I have some of the orange/reds, but not the yellow/gold!! Maybe I've got something I can send you for it this fall.

Edit: I just checked your trade list and saw that you're wanting some cannas. I have 'Aida' but that's the only one on your list that I have. I could send you some of that. I have 15 others, too (named). I haven't built my trade list yet (only been on here a couple of weeks). I'll try to get them listed soon.

Here is a picture of my grand daughter, Madison in my garden. She was in awe of the Hybiscus..

What a pretty girl! I have a 3 y/o grandaughter, myself. She's the light of my life!! Aren't little girls just the sweetest things? We just had her "family" birthday party over here at my house this evening. I got her a little bicycle with training wheels... just the right size for her. Now I've got to teach her how to work the petals and steer! I'm also going tomorrow to get her a swing set for her house, and her "kid's" party is tomorrow. I got her a swing set last year for her birthday that's at my house and she loves it.
Here's a pic of the two of us taken recently, one day when I was working out in the yard with her. This is the pic I've got on my member page, too...

What sweet dimples! And those blue eyes are beautiful! Yes, little girls are Great! I also have a grandson, her brother. His name is Carson, he was five in January and she just turned four in May. I would recomend everyone be a grandmother! It's the BEST! This is a picture of Carson and I after his Graduation from preschool.

Bay, AR(Zone 7a)

He looks like a sweet little boy! And it looks as though he loves his grandma! What a nice picture that makes.

You know, I have an older sister and a younger sister, but no brothers. Then, I had a girl, my big sister had a girl, and then another girl, and it wasn't until my little sister had a boy (when my daughter and nieces were about 7-8!) that we even had any males around (besides dad and then hubbys) so I don't have much experience with little boys. Daughter is now divorced, so don't know what the prospects are for more g'kids... (pout). My DH had an 11 year old son when we got married, but he was only around every other weekend and summers, and he was a spoiled brat! And I'm not just saying that! He's 21 now and still doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up. My daughter is 23 and an LPN and has been "the" nurse for an internist for the past year and a half, after having worked her first year out of school at the hospital on the heart patient wing. I'm so proud of her! As long as we're posting pics, here's one of her at her LPN graduation....
