I am looking for seed companies on Vancouver Island that will still send seed to the States. I contacted West coast seeds and they said because of 911 it has made it alot harder for them to send seeds down to the States. As of May they have stopped sending thier seeds down here. I just got back into gardening after an absents of about ten years. I got seeds from a company just for the West Coast gardening. I can not remember the name of the company I delt with. I live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. Can anyone help me? Thank you for any help. Stlhead

.....not on Vancouver Island but it is located on one of the Salt Spring Islands.
Here is a list of both plant and seed companies that are located in BC....maybe seeing it will jog your memory: http://davesgarden.com/gwd/advanced.php?state=bc&submit=Go

Thank you for the imformation Lilypon. Salt Spring can not send seeds down to the states either. Maybey I will just have to make a road trip.
If I lived as close as you I would do it in a heartbeat! ;)
I think that Territorial Seeds has seeds suited for the West Coast and I think they're located in your area. Here's the website.

I did get seed from territorial-seed. They Are located in Oregon a few hundred miles away. West Coast seeds has seed for this area that territorial does not have. I will have to make a road trip I guess. Thanks for the help anyway.
Will you be coming up on the ferry from Port Angeles? Don't forget to take in Butchart gardens, and there's many other nurseries to get too as well.

Thank you MG99 for the imformation. I will email you when I decide to make the trip.
And you had better add minimum 3 extra days to your trip to go to Duncan nurseries, visit Royal Roads, Government House, feed the seals, Finnerty Gardens at UVic ... etc etc etc. It is never ending, good things to do in Victoria. At our First Cdn RU we only scratched the surface.
Inanda - who wouldn't mind some west coast temps here at the mo.
