now that doesn't make me feel any better.
I look at that and almost think this year will be a one time only brug experience. Sheesh, growing them up here and getting happy over a couple of blooms is kind of sick. Like having a Ferrari in the driveway and never going more than 20mph over to the minimart and back.

LOL Blaine. But just think of all the clean up that monster brug takes. Everyday you must have to pick up at least 1000 dead flowers. Sounds pretty terrible to me. LOL

WOW Kelli! Kyle once posted a LA brug. Knocked my socks off too! Here they get pretty huge but we get enough frosts every few years to prune them back to a manageable size. A natural pruner!

THANKS for thinking of us all Kelli!

I am in agreement with 8ftbed. I never, ever thought I would get so frustrated with plants but the Brugs have tried my patience to the limit (almost) with all the gnats, mites, jap.beatles, ants and spiders (weird looking bright yellow ones) along with NO RAIN for over a month. BUT there could be hope for rain, it always rains for the local Fair and it starts Sat.

OMG. I must have a different variety, a one inch trunk is a big deal here...

If you all really wqant to get sick read Carol (Alohahoya) post "Can Brugs grow too fast? THAT will make you sick.

Both links mentioned here are incredible. To think...all I want mine to do is bloom and it just refuses. What's a brug mama to do?

Hey 8ftbed but just think how good you will look on the way to the mini-mart. That is lovely but I prefer smaller dainty trees, which is about what I can get here. lol

snickers..

Dee - are they still in the vegetative stage or have they Y'd and no buds?
Some of the crosses I started from seed this winter have started Y'ng and I haven't seen buds yet. I'm wondering what they're up to as well.

Ocean Springs, MS(Zone 9a)

This is the first time I've had a brug...I'm not sure if it has Y'd or not.

What do I look for?

My seedlings are so slow this year. I let them sit around in small pots too long. All my fault. Though I almos tlet them all die, so I guess this is better! LOL Blaine you are putting me to shame!!

Hi Dee, here is a Y. A brug forms a Y and then each part of the Y forms its own Y and so on and so forth up up and up. Here is I pic I just took for you, it is the second Y on a seedling.

And here is a picture of a first Y that actually put out a 3 dimensional Y! LOL. It makes for a much fuller canopy.
