Hey everyone. I have known about Daves for some time, but never subscribed until now. Man, I had no idea what I was missing! I am loving it here already as I have gotten a flush of useful info. I have been glued to the greenhouse section reading the hundreds of posts...especially Cricket's. Wow. She really has the 'go-get-em' doesn't she.
I want to take the time to welcome all other newbies as well. I would love to do it personally, but there's only so many hours in a day, and so much knowledge to be had. DG here I come, lol. Sheila
A big ole hello from AR
Welcome to the rest of the garden Sheila :-) There are so many wonderful nooks and crannies here with all the forums but you are right- the real treasure is the people. Happy gardening.

Thanks for the welcome everyone =).
We just got a scare. Yesterday I took everything out of my greenhouse so I could rearrange it better, and get some shade cloth (the lanscaper's fabric from Fred's), on it, lol. Hey it works for now. Anyway I was out there getting everything put back into place. When I finally got it done, I decided I'd try to get the yard mowed before the rain came. It had been thundering and lightning all throughout the day, but no rain. I got no futher than a few strips done when it started to lightning again. When it was apparent that it wasn't going away I shut the mower off, and came in the house. I wasn't in there no time when the tornado siren went off. Of course being the person I am, I had to go back outside to look and see if I could spot the twister. No such luck, thank heavens, but the sky got this really wierd hugh. You know the one right before you get swept away to munchkin land, lol, and in came those super dark/gray clouds. My mom called me to ask if I was going to go to the storn shelter because she heard on the scanner that we had tornados all around us. I said no, I guessed I just stay put. It did get really dark with lots of lightning, but no tornado. I was so scared my greenhouse was going to get blown away. All during this whole thing neighbors were out shooting thier fireworks. I guess I'm not the only dummy, LOL. Anyway that has been my 4th of July, 2005. Thanks for listening...Sheila
Oh my gosh, I love a storm but that sounds scary.
Hi Sheila - welcome to DavesGarden!
Welcome to DG - enjoy yourself !

Hi Sheila and welcome to DG! Are you ever lucky if you live near ButterflyChaser as she's giving plants away just for your effort in digging. It's not every plant, just the ones she listed in her thread under Trading. Just look for her as the one who started the thread and you can follow up from there! Enjoy, have fun, see you around the threads!
Sheila,
Just checked map quest and Nancy (ButterflyChaser) is 100 miles west of you. She did close out her offer but if you need some plants just drop her a line and see what you can work out!
Arlene
Thanks Pirl. I have met Nancy (ButterflyChaser) already, and yes she's a very generous person indeed.
