White Water Hyacinth

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

This is the first one to bloom. Also my first time to have the white, all the others are lavender.

Hi Busybee,
That is so cool :) I don't have any water hyacinths, but I did get some lotus seeds and put a cut in each of them, put them in pond mud and water!! The first seed I did has 3 little pads, and I see more of the seeds and sending up little green runners :) Did you grow your hyacinth from seeds?? Will they over winter for you? I know the lotus will not bloom until next year(if I can keep it alive), but I am going to sure try :)
Thanks for the pretty pic :)

tootsie, I got some plants several years ago and they put back out in the spring after the larger leaves die back in the winter. Most of the ones I have are lavender and they multiply like crazy. I have taken 3 five gal. buckets out and put them in the compost drum. I didn`t know these were going to be white when I planted them but it was a nice surprise.
