I have no idea what they are, I had them listed on my PC, but it crashed before I could get tags made. I do know I have a Tomahawk in them somewhere LOL. I grew them all from leaves.
This one has a thin white edge on the bloom.
A few 1st time blooms for me
very beautiful Shelly
Shelly they are all beautiful !
Looks like the last pic posted has kinda girl foliage???
MsC
Thank you! LOL I didnt know they had girl foliage! I went and looked at all my other violets, and only one other plant has a little overlapping. Nothing like this one tho.
Congratulations!! Aren't first blooms so special?
Those really are beautiful. Great job!

Gorgeous blooms, Shelly!
I've recently learned that the term "girl" foliage doesn't have anything to do with the rounded, ruffled appearance of the leaves.... it's the kind of foliage found in a whole series of violets with "Girl" in the name.... 'Peppermint Girl', 'Silly Girl', etc. Sort of like Champion variegated foliage refers to the name of a breeder, I think.
Thank you! It seemed like such a long time waiting for them to bloom. I guess 1½ yr isnt bad considering they had to fill up the pots LOL.
Thank you Critterologist.. lol my violets probably felt violated after I got done looking at them.
Hey,
Here's a great link for everyone to check the leaf types and blossom type with pics & a description of each... you can compare your violets to these pics and it will help us all to describe them better for our trades.
This site also has tons of other info that might be helpful, too.

It was my understanding (sorry this is a bit of a tangent) that girl foliage referred to the light-colored center of the leaf. From the link MsC posted, this is still my understanding. Am I getting that right? I have an unnamed violet that has girl foliage-- well, at least according to that definition. But since it has no name, it can't have "girl" in the name...
Here's the definition on the site
Leaf Descriptions:
Girl Foliage: White to yellowish green shades beginning at base of leaf, extending up middle and/or out into leaf along veins with scalloped edges.
Now, if I read & understand this as it is written, and the pic they show has to have 2 elements....both the lighter center and scalloped edges...
The ones I think of as having girl foliage always remind me of kinda a "cabbage head" tehy kinda curl up around the edges, too.
I never heard that it has to have the word "girl" in the name but hey I'm no expert either...lol
Guess we can do some more research???
"Girl" foliage doesn't have to have "girl" in the name, it's just that the name for the foliage type came from its occurring in a series of "X Girl" violets. I didn't mean to be confusing.
Thanks for the site with definitions, MsC!
Looking at the photos on the site, I think the leaf they just call "variegated" (second row on right) is what is meant by "Champion Variegation" (I think Champion is the name of a breeder who came up with a number of violets with this type of leaf).
