Every year we have a wonderful opportunity to wander in our central park and buy, or drool over, art. Now I didn't take pics of all (some artists were touchy about cameras) but some were very pleased to have their pieces taken.
I know jagonjune, weeds, and some of the other members enjoy the unusual so I'm featuring mainly one artists work.
Since it was on Canada Day what better pic to start with....
ParkArt in Moose Jaw
those are just too cute!!!!!
more, more
am i the only one who didn't know Elvis was in Mossejaw???
LOLOL ;) And here I thought you'd fall in love with our Mountie!
honey, those guitar pickers are everywhere down here in the redneck riviera!
Ah yes I forgot how commercial they are now ;)
Mountie? oh, hangs head in shame....didn't recognize that!
Must not go to Disney then much? I think they bought the image.
only if somebody holds a gun to my head.
LOLOLOLOLOL....kinda thought so!
Well, (snit-sniff) see what happens, you miss a day checking in on the C's and they throw a party! Just thought I'd drop by to see what's happening up there. Here, everybody is cooking, traveling, etc. for the 4th and the traffic is WAY down on DG. Even the Coleus-Crazies aren't posting!
Anyway.....I love the pictures, and the one of the park taken through the trees is especially lovely. I'll keep that picturte in mind as I go out and set up a new window box of Coleus.....it's 90° and heat index of 100°. *sigh* If I don't come back, just look for a big greasy spot where I had my melt-down.
Pati
Hey Pati! I haven't heard that in years. My daddy use to say watch out for cars cause if you get runover there'll only be a big greasy spot left!
Pati you and weeds will have to head up here for the summer (esp at this time of year). Barring Texas and California sending two freak systems north, at the same time, we are usually at very pleasant temps now.
Take care you two! After having that heat/humidity spell here I truly feel for y'all and your plants.

LOL weeds. Are you from the south? Most southern girls call their father "Daddy", even when they're as old as me! Tomorrow would be my Daddy's 102nd birthday. He was always so proud of being a "Yankee-Doodle baby. True to my southern heritage we always put seasonal flowers on our grave sites. Christmas Poinsettias, Tulips for Easter, Mums for fall, but on his birthday I always had a 4th of July helium balloon and an American flag! I'm sure he loved it.
Pati
Lilypon, yes, it's hot and humid, but the Plumies are LOVING it. LOL
Pati
Yeppers, I am southern as you can get, Alabama born and raised and my daddy would be 86 now. He will always be my "daddy", even when I am a hunnert.
LOL.....yep I know my Plumies/Musa/other Forida Trops did (as did my gorgeous heat lovin' Lotus). Don't mind the high heat but when we get humidity the nights don't cool off at all here...... & without A/C I get really cranky. ;)
My Grandmother always put flowers on family graves at various holidays here too (I think of it rarely ;( ).....but I call my father Dad.
I mentioned the plants cause I know, unless you have automatic watering, some peep has to get out there often. Which sometimes doesn't happen when it should....at least in my garden. ;)
MIne either Lily.......most of them are on their own bt we have had this draught in the summer for 3 years so they are getting use to it.....then come the canes and water their scraggley butts.
LOLOL......your summers sound so much like winters here. We aren't getting the snow cover when we should and the last few have been waaaaaaaaaay colder than even what we are accustomed too. And now we are prolly getting your rains....the prairies and our crops aren't made for it.
Thanks for the pictures. Want one of everything there...lol.
:) Donna
ohh, i can't wait to see that prairie!
I'm expecting to see you on my doorstep one of these days weeds! Ü You too Pati.... I still owe you a meal! ;) The rains have certainly given us more than a *touch* of Ireland to the countryside.
So did I Donna ...... the metal worker did a wonderful job (said it *only* took him 47 years to learn how ;).
weeds if nanners like lots of rain......these guys are gonna grow 11 feet even here! ;)
No hail out there but our underpasses are going to be flooded again.
wow, and i just came in from watering again....your tropicals will be in hog heaven!
I hope so........now we just have to turn up the heat. 80's and higher are forecasted to come soon....they better be right!
