I was tickled pink last weekend! (Well, hope ya'll know that's just an expression! I wasn't really pink!)
A friend/customer came to our Farmers' Mkt and brought me a gift. I had given her a Brugmansia plant a couple years ago and she thought I would enjoy one of her craft pieces. This is the leaf of a Brug that she used in a cement/mortar casting. If you could see it in person you would be able to make out all the fine details (leaf veins, textures, etc). She said it took her 3 years to come up with the perfect mix of mortar/bonding agent etc and now does all kinds of these things. She just did a gallery show a month or so ago and had 107 pieces on display ranging from various plant leaves to who knows what!
What I really like about it is that you can hang it outside and it's perfectly safe in the weather. Will be great for displaying on the deck or one of our out-buildings.
