I love this hardy hibiscus.
hardy hibiscus
is thats blue river or blue river II

Blue river II. Got it as a cutting. I first saw it on a plant that was about 8 ft. tall and in full bloom. It was the most stunning sight. I have now been on a quest to find new varieties. Just got a plum colored one that is gorgeous.
Barbara.. that one is very nice.. I bet the white really shows up in the evening garden. I have a hot pink that everyone that sees it wants a cutting from.. let me go out and take a picture to show you.. if you want a piece I'll get one rooted for you for when I see you in August.
how did you root it? I have some but don't know the name. but the only thing I do know is in early spring when they come up you can dig them up and chop the roots where it is sending the plant up and put them in different spots... I like the one called plum crazy... but I don't have it...LOL

Ely.. .I find that they root easily from semi soft cuttings. Plum crazy sounds like me :-) My bush starts blooming in the spring and doesn't stop until a hard freeze.. each year it comes back bigger and bigger.. and the larger branches don't die completely back.. they just go to sleep for the winter..
Those are both beautiful! I have a white one that I got at one of the round ups last fall and I hope mine is as pretty as Barbara's.
I moved all of my Hardy Hibiscus last year so that they are in a row against my wooden fence. Some of them are covered in buds, but no blooms yet. Lucky you, MzMunchken that you have spring blooms on these.
