Does anyone here recognize this Brug?
Name Please....
It darkens to a more vibrant rose color...with a hint of orange in it.
Whomever she is, she's gorgeous! Look at that color! :-)
It is beautiful.....the picture really doesn't do it justice Karrie. I sure hope someone here might recognize her.
Could be Ecuador Pink. It is a beauty for sure!
Verry pretty, did someone send you the cutting?
wow would love to see one like that here to.. great one...
It's so beautiful in her pretty pot, which shows her off nicely...
Thanks everybody! Ü
Kell I too wondered about Ecuador Pink but the coloring seemed much more intense than the pics I've seen of it in the Plantfiles. I really love the swirl of it's skirts as well. When it blooms again, during one of our heat spells, I'll post another pic of it.
I purchased it Linda....they just didn't know it's name.
I have seen some dark EPs on here though Linda. Not mine of course. LOL And when you use her in hybridizing she adds a dark gene, so she is sought after for that. Are you making like a bee with her???? I hope so!!
I'll give it a try Kell......don't know how well the pods will stay attached once I bring it inside for nine months tho. ;)
my EP has never gotten very dark
lagata that's close to mine but mine has a slight orange glow to it. I'll post a pic of it the next time it blooms ....hopefully my temps will bring that color out again.
I expected to see a softer pink like yours Donna.....you certainly get the heat to bring out darker colors. I wonder if there are two slightly different EP circulating?
There is one called Kyle's Pink that is so close to EP.

Also I seem to recall a similar one that was very dark that Sue made last year I think it was. Ada may have one too that looks like it too.

Thanks for the link Kell. :) It sure makes it confusing doesn't it?
Is there a link to Sue's cross?
How on earth did you get the idy-bidy plant to produce those huge flowers.....it looks almost weird....great going......love them..
It's a short below the Y tree Happy.......someone prolly cut it and rooted it (but it could also be one that Y'd very quickly). Given the fact that I live in a very low zone and don't have a year round greenhouse this size of Brug will take up much less space when I have to bring it in for the winter. To give it more pizzaz I can set it up on a pedestal again when it's now forming buds open.
When I got mine (about 3 years ago from a ca.nursery) it was just a few inches high, and when it bloomed all it's poor lovely flower faces were shoved into the dirt!
This was taken it's second summer in high heat; note the color differences as the blooms aged. Beautiful!!!
It stayed in the ground this winter (with backup cuttings and branches in the bubbler!) and is about 4 ft tall with it's first blooms now.
It darkend more in a day or so, but I can't find the picture I was planning to put here :(
It's gorgeous lagata2 and I'm looking forward to seeing mine look like yours! :D Ü :D
That is beautiful Lilypon! Way to go......
Thanks weeds! :D It really is a little cutie.....it really would look funny up against the monsters in your yard. ;)
Just finished looking at your pics...and I've wiped the tears off my keyboard. The COLORS and PLANTS you've got are to die for!! The day lilies made me smile (they are the one of the few plants, in your yard, that I would have recognized easily before joining Dave's ;) My gingers are lookin' good...but I'm going to show them their mommas blooms in YOUR yard.
Can't forget the HIBISCUS :D Ü :D .......I've GOT to cross the border! ;)
So where did you see these incredible pics Lilypon? I just LOVE garden pics. Anything grown well, I just love to look at. I live vicariously a lot!! LOL
Lagata, if my EP looked like yours I might actually like that brug long neck and all.
It was a private email Kell.....I should have replied that way but I saw her post here *just* after I drooled over her pics.
If my second flush looks like lagata's I too will be very, very pleased. :)
Oh sure Pam, tease me. LOL
LOLOLOL.....sorry Kell!
edited to say I'm pretty sure the pics of any DG's members, south of the 49th, tease me much, much more (esp those who are lucky enough to live in the HIGH zones ....... eh Kell ;)

Thanks Donna I'm really pleased to see the new buds progressing and this week is supposed to get pretty warm to hot so hopefully it will influence the coloring.
