Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

Good Morning Everyone.

It's July! Our youngest daughter will get married on the 3rd. She has had the worst case of jitters I have ever seen.. It will be a huge relief when it's all done... I do hope for a wonderful ceremony.

My ongoing fencing project is finally seeing some progress. I took off this week to work on it and the wedding. I was getting my final post hole dug yesterday when I see a dark sky moving in my direction... It carried a little rain with it ... We had a "dust settling" rain... We needed it badly. We could use a lot more.

I will move the cattle into a tighter pasture today , as we are going to be gone to the city for the wedding and anyone that would check on the cattle for me will hopefully be there as well.

We got a new bull and he doesn't know me yet. He is a little skiddish still. A young hereford.. He seems to like all his new girlfriends. So hopefully he will follow them right along when I move them today. It seems to take a few moves and then the cattle go right along through the gates.

I have probably mentioned this many times.. But, goats are amazing creatures. When my husband and I moved to this farm about 7 years ago , it was absolutely covered in brush. We still have many many thorn trees, but the goats have made so much progress against this pesky tree. Yesterday I watched while a young black goat stripped the bark off a pretty large tree. They seem to love to eat the absolute worst stuff... Poison ivy is another favorite of theirs. and would you believe I saw them snacking on a thistle!

What's up with everyone? Anyone heard from Wingnut lately? How about Karla?

Leaflady, I thought of you yesterday. You are always mentioning yardening. I had ripe raspberries on a cane right next to a beautiful daylily bloom of the same color.

Since I am on vacation this week I think I'll go have my next cup of coffee out by the garden...
