If God wanted me to be smart

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

he would have given me a brain!! I tell this to my DH all the time now since I got so dumb. I was just out in the yard and I saw this little purple flower and went to pick it up for I thought it had fallen from somewhere on my black sweet potato vine. And what a shock, it was attached.

I grew these last year for their foliage and thought they were just a foliage plant and I never saw a flower. At first I was so thrilled, I thought I had a unique sport. LOL. And then I realized Ipomoea = morning glory. DUH!!!

Interesting.....! Hmmmm....I sure didn't know they bloomed. But of course, I guess we all should have thought about the MG family. Does this happen often? It's a pretty flower.

Don't feel bad, I thought the same thing last year when my ‘Marguerite’ bloomed. I even grew a 'Sweet Potato' Vine year before last that bloomed profusely, and a VERY pretty vine. Couldn't believe it.
Here are some of my 'Marguerite' blooms.

I don't know yet Brinda but 2 of mine are today! LOL

So EmmaGrace, the green one blooms too? I wish it had an orange bloom to go with the green or a black purple flower for contrast. I have to go out now and check out my green ones. LOL

So Root, I am racking what little brain I have left, for what DL means. Is it Dumb Luck?? If so, that sure sounds like me. LOL

Oh Chele, next time we will luck out.

Doncha' love them sweet potato vines!!! I grow that bright green Marguerite amongst the purple taro (black magic?) and it is stunning!!! YUP...they all work! Kell...we all have good brains...we just overload the harddrives with too much information and the simplest stuff gets lost in space.

My name? Let me check and get back to you.

I planted 2 in the pot with my black magic also Carol. I also added a hibiscus that captured the color of with the black taro leaf color but in a lighter shade.. I am in love with my pot. LOL I have no room for a tropical bed, so I have a tropical pot. LOL Where there is a will there is a way. LOL
